For more information, visit www.satocommunity.org or email seco@satocommunity.org CUP & CONE DNO: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10TH Celebrate the start of summer with a sweet treat at Cup & Cone in Bethany Village on Wednesday, June 10, from 12:00 – 8:00 PM and SECO will receive 15% of all sales throughout the day! No flyer necessary. Every Dining Night Out helps fund SECO programs, events, and resources that directly benefit Sato students and staff. Thank you for supporting our school community! LAST DAY TO ORDER BOTTLE DROP BAGS: TUESDAY, JUNE 9TH The last day to request a blue SECO BottleDrop bag for the summer is Tuesday, June 9th. To participate request a blue BottleDrop bag on our website and a bag will be sent home with your student. Collect eligible bottles and cans at home and drop the full bag off at a BottleDrop location. No BottleDrop account is required to participate, and the QR code on the bag connects the donation directly to SECO. Visit our website to request a bag and learn more about how you can participate. If you have any questions, please email fundraising@satocommunity.org SECO BOARD FOR THE 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR We are still in need of a Co-VP of Events and a VP of Fundraising. SECO is looking for board members and committee members for next school year, and we need your help to keep our programs going strong. Without parent volunteers stepping up to help lead and organize, events like the Halloween Party, Raccoon Run, Glow Party, and Movie Nights may be CANCELLED next year. Thank you to everyone who purchased a popcorn sponsorship this year. A special shoutout to the families who chose a Help a Class Sponsorship. Your generosity ensured that TEN classrooms throughout the year were able to enjoy popcorn without students having to bring money to school to purchase it. Because of the support of our Sato community, 100% of classrooms received popcorn sponsorships for the 2025-2026 school year. Thank you for helping make this program available to all students! We would also like to thank our amazing volunteers. From setup and popping to distribution and cleanup, your time and dedication make this fun program possible. We couldn't bring this special treat to our students and staff without your help! 2026 RACCOON RUN LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION SECO is excited to once again host a 4th Grade Raccoon Run Logo Design Contest! Our 4th grade students have submitted their creative logo designs, and each classroom has voted to select their favorite. We are now collecting votes from all grade classes and this year's winning design will be revealed during the assembly on the last day of school! Thank you to all of our 4th grade students who participated in this year's contest. We were so impressed by the creativity and effort shown in every submission. Congratulations to our finalists, and good luck! DONATIONS FOR STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK AND SPRING CONFERENCES Thank you to all of our families who donated supplies, treats, or funds to help make Staff Appreciation Week and our Spring Conference Dinner a success! Because of your generosity, our staff felt truly appreciated, celebrated, and supported. We are so grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive school community. FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS A huge thank you to all of our Field Day volunteers! Thanks to more than 100 volunteers, our students enjoyed an incredible day filled with fun activities. Field Day is one of our students' favorite events each year, and it simply would not be possible without the support of our amazing volunteers. A special thank you to our first-shift volunteers who braved the rain to help keep the fun going. We would also like to recognize and thank our middle school and high school volunteers who generously gave their time to help make the day a success. We are so grateful for every volunteer who helped with activities, supervision, and cleanup. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm helped create a wonderful experience for our students. We couldn't have done it without you! As we wrap up another wonderful school year, we want to thank our students, families, staff, and volunteers for making it such a success. Your support, generosity, and involvement help make our school community truly special. We hope you have a fun, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break. We’re continuing the tradition of Sato families sponsoring dinner for the ~50 staff members working a long day of teaching and conferences. How can families help: -Make a monetary donation (here) to help us to cater the main entree -Sign up to bring in drinks, side dishes, or desserts (here) We appreciate any help you can provide! You can purchase a class sponsorship here. Help a class in need! Some of our classes struggle to find Popcorn Friday sponsors each month. Look for ParentSquare volunteer signups to come out next week. BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION DAY: APRIL 28TH Join us in celebrating our amazing bus drivers on April 28th! These dedicated drivers safely transport our students each day with care and kindness, and this is a great opportunity to show our appreciation. Families can participate by having students make a card or drawing, write a thank-you note, or bring a small token of appreciation (like a favorite snack or drink). A simple “thank you” goes a long way in making our drivers feel valued! Did you know there are hand-carved stamps hidden all over the world waiting to be discovered? We are thrilled to announce SECO’s new Letterboxing Club with Mrs. Fry, a unique opportunity for 4th and 5th-graders to combine art, logic, and outdoor exploration. Letterboxing is a creative treasure-hunting activity where players follow clues to find hidden stamps. Students will learn to make their own logbooks, carve their own signature stamps, and practice solving clues to find boxes hidden within the library. By the end of the session, students will be prepared to embark on real-world letterboxing adventures with their families!
