Open Positions for the 2025/2026 School Year

Board Positions

  • SECO Board members help manage the organization in its work to support the school.

  • Select board positions oversee and manage program committees (see details for each position).

  • Board members are required to attend one general meeting and one board meeting a month.

Volunteer Committees

  • SECO Committees are overseen by a board member and are comprised of volunteers.

  • Choose to help complete tasks that are needed to plan, organize, and coordinate programs and events.

  • Committees are a great way to be involved while limiting your time commitment!

Board Positions

Open SECO Board Positions for the 2025/2026 School Year

Treasurer - APPLICATIONS RECEIVED

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Averages 2-3 hours a month on top of attending evening meetings

  • Work Location: Work is done from home

With the help of our Assistant Treasurer, this role is responsible for keeping our finances organized, including recording and tracking all income and expenses, managing reimbursements, and maintaining receipts and records. The Treasurer also provides financial updates at SECO meetings and helps ensure our funds are used to best support Sato students and staff.

 

Member at Large

  • Estimated Time Requirement: 0-2 hours a month depending on committee participation on top of attending evening meetings

  • Work Location: Most work is done from home

Position entails being a participating member of the Board and assisting other board members where needed. Members at Large may also choose to manage one or more program committees.

Committees

SECO Volunteer Committees for the 2025/2026 School Year

Raccoon Run Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Varies depending on tasks (.5-3 hours per task). Work needed starting 3-4 months prior to the October event.

  • Work Location: Most preparation can be done at home with day-of coordination done at the school

Committee volunteers are needed to help plan, assemble event supplies, and coordinate for the yearly Raccoon Run fundraiser event. Tasks include advertising, determining prizes, purchasing event supplies, recruiting sponsors, coordinating volunteers, and more. This committee is overseen by the VP of Events and the VP of Fundraising.

 

Halloween Event Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Varies depending on tasks (.5-3 hours per task). Work needed starting 1-2 months prior to the October event.

  • Work Location: Most preparation can be done at home with day-of coordination done at the school.

Committee volunteers are needed to help plan, assemble event supplies, and coordinate for the evening Halloween event(s). Tasks include advertising, determining activities, coordinating ticket sales, purchasing event supplies, coordinating volunteers, and more. This committee is overseen by the VP of Events.

 

Family Movie Night Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Varies depending on tasks (.5-1 hour per task). Work needed starting 1 month prior to each event. Events occur 3-4 times per school year.

  • Work Location: Most preparation can be done at home with day-of coordination done at the school.

Committee volunteers are needed to help plan, assemble event supplies, and coordinate for each event. Typically, there are 3-4 family movie nights a year. Tasks include advertising, coordinating ticket sales, determining the movie, purchasing event supplies, coordinating volunteers, and more. This committee is overseen by the VP of Events.

 

Cultural Night Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Varies depending on tasks (.5-3 hours per task). Work needed starting 2-3 months prior to the January event.

  • Work Location: Most preparation can be done at home with day-of coordination done at the school.

Committee volunteers are needed to help plan, assemble event supplies, and coordinate the event. Tasks include advertising, coordinating sign-ups, determining activities, purchasing event supplies, coordinating staff and parent volunteers, and more. This committee is overseen by the VP of Events.

 

Dance Party Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Varies depending on tasks (.5-1 hour per task). Work needed starting 1-2 months prior to the Fall event.

  • Work Location: Most preparation can be done at home with day-of coordination done at the school.

Committee volunteers are needed to help plan, assemble event supplies, and coordinate for the event. Tasks include advertising, determining activities, coordinating ticket sales, purchasing event supplies, coordinating volunteers, and more. This committee is overseen by the VP of Events.

 

Dine Out Night Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: 1 hour per month

  • Work Location: Work is done from home

Committee volunteers are needed to help coordinate the monthly dine out events. Tasks include coordinating with restaurants and advertising provided flyers. This committee is overseen by the VP of Fundraising.

 

Alternate Fundraising Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: 1 hour per month

  • Work Location: Most work is done from home with occasional drop-offs during school hours

Committee volunteers are needed to help coordinate our alternate fundraisers (i.e., Oregon Bottle Drop and Fred Meyer Rewards). Tasks include advertising to families, managing programs, and fulfilling bottle drop bag requests. This committee is overseen by the VP of Fundraising.

 

Art Literacy Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: 1-3 hours per month

  • Work Location: Varies by task.

Committee volunteers are needed to coordinate the estimated six Art Literacy projects each year. Tasks include coordinating with the district liaison, organizing volunteers, implementing project trainings, purchasing needed supplies, production support, managing funds and creating bulletin board displays.

 

Spirit Wear Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: .5-1 hour per month

  • Work Location: Most work is done from home with occasional on-site work to fulfil orders

Committee volunteers are needed to coordinate and manage all spirit wear sales. Tasks include processing orders and delivering to teacher's mailboxes in the office, researching new and additional products, run promotions to boost sales, placing new orders, and more. This committee is overseen by a SECO board member.

 

Yearbook Club Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Varies depending on tasks (1-3 hours per month).

  • Work Location: Mix of on-site and work from home depending on tasks.

Committee volunteers are needed to help coordinate and establish our new Yearbook club. Tasks include advertising, overseeing student work, coordinating pages and more. This committee is overseen by a SECO board member.

 

Fifth Grade Celebration Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: Varies depending on tasks (1-2 hours per task). Work needed starting 3-4 months prior to the June event.

  • Work Location: Work is done from home

Committee volunteers are needed to help plan and coordinate fifth grade celebration. Tasks include coordinating with fifth grade teachers and event venue, managing funds, and ordering supplies. This committee is overseen by a SECO board member.

 

Flyers & Graphics Committee

  • Estimated Time Requirement: 1 hour per month

  • Work Location: Work is done from home

Committee volunteers are needed to help design and create flyers and graphics for SECO events and programs. Flyers and graphics will be used in advertising on our website, newsletters, parent and staff communication and for the school bulletin board. Graphics for spirit wear may also be requested. Volunteers will work with committee heads on their individual event/program needs.
