Art Literacy Program
SECO is a proud supporter of the Art Literacy Program. Art Literacy, affectionately referred to as "Art Lit", exposes students to different art and artists.
Throughout the year, volunteers will visit students in their classrooms and present a (provided) slideshow introducing students to an artist or art style and their accompanying work. Following that, volunteers will lead students through an art project in a similar style to the featured artist.
You don't need to be an artist or have a background in art to volunteer. Volunteers are provided training from our Art Lit Coordinators for each of the six lessons. In total, a classroom Art Lit session lasts about 90 minutes (set up, lesson, art project, and clean up).
