Why we Fundraise

Why do we fundraise? Many parents may not realize just how much a parent-teacher organization funds! SECO helps provide funding for school events, such as the STEAM Night, Field Day, and Staff Appreciation, plus our own family/community events, such as Movie Nights, Game Night, and Cultural Night. We also fund many programs and clubs for our students, such as Art Literacy, Voyagers, Running Club, and OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books). Many of these programs are fully funded by SECO! In addition to all of this, we provide all teachers with needed supplies (such as incubators for the Kindergarten classrooms), fulfill their requests for funds throughout the year, and pay for other extras like bus transportation for field trips. All funds raised by SECO benefit each and every student in the school and details on the budget and SECO expenditures can be found under SECO business.

We have several fundraising events planned throughout the year. These include ongoing campaigns such as collecting Box Tops, shopping through our Amazon Smile link, and linking your grocery store club cards to SECO. Our big fundraiser for the year is the Raccoon Write-Off - a direct donation campaign that allows us to take advantage of all of those employer matching programs in our area! In the Spring, we hope to hold another Raccoon Run - because it’s so fun! We are also scheduling a few Dine Out events for this year. Make sure to check the calendar and flyers for upcoming dates!
