World Language Books

The school library is an important resource for English language learners. It may be the first place many students and their families get experience using a lending library. In the classroom students learn to read, learn to read for information, and become proficient English language readers. In the library we get to read for fun, the third pillar of reading development for fluent, life-long readers, and research shows that reading in one's native language (L1) increases reading fluency in English. Our limited budget does not justify the purchase of non-English language books for the Sato library, but you can help by taking time on your travels to purchase children's books in world languages for donation to our library.  https://sites.google.com/beaverton.k12.or.us/sato-library/donate
