Volunteer Opportunities!

We need your help at Sato! You can always find our current volunteer opportunities (scroll down for more!) on the website or from the My Volunteer Page emails once you are registered as a volunteer. Here's the latest from our Volunteer Co-Coordinator, Linda!

Hello Sato Families, 

As the weather is nicer, we will be having Running Club UNLESS CANCELLED and will need at least 3 volunteers Tuesday morning and 6 for Thursday at lunch recess every week.  Thursday has had an incredible turnout, and since all kids can run we have had about 350 kids participate and get their 1 mile award!  Volunteering is the easiest thing, just watch them run and mark their sheets when they do a lap!  I will not be sending out weekly volunteer requests for this, just cancellations, so if you don't hear from us we still need volunteers for Running Club.

If there is someone that can volunteer on the administrative side of things, we could use someone to work on our Scrip program.  This is work from home stuff if you are unable to help at the school.  If you are unfamiliar with Scrip, here is a link to check it out.  https://www.shopwithscrip.com/  Please contact Carolyn at fundraising@satocommunity.org if you can help out! 

We are still needing an Art Coordinator for the STEAM 2nd and 4th grade barrel project, please contact Carol_Biskupic_Knight@beaverton.k12.or.us if you can either help or plan the project.

Popcorn Friday is this Friday the 9th, and we could use someone to come help pop between 9:30-11:30 (another easy job, and I will be popping with you!) and 2 people to sell and pass out popcorn 11:15-1pm.  Just reply to this email if you can help.

We have our School's turn helping at the Beaverton School District Clothes Closet March 7th and need a coordinator.  Their responsibility would be to recruit volunteers to staff the clothes closet from 9:30-4:30, 5 volunteers per shift.  If you set the schedule, I can send out the request.  You will also need to communicate the duties to the volunteers before they go for their shift.  (I have all the documents you will need, this can be via email.)  There are other optional activities you can add if you would like, and we can have more than one person help!  Please let me know if you are interested.  

We have Movie Night we are finalizing for February and then will send the dates, information and volunteer requests this Monday.  

Don't forget our Go for the Gold box tops competition this month.   My kids have already cut up some cereal boxes to get started!!! 

Any questions please don't hesitate to email, and our upcoming SECO Meeting next Tuesday is a great chance to give feedback, talk to the principal regarding school programs, etc.  Come check it out, Tuesday the 13th, in the Library, with Principal Charli Hagseth and company!
